Workday workouts: Exercise at lunchtime

Give up your lunchtime to exercise?! "I don’t think so!" I hear you say.
Such reluctance is understandable. The energy levels of most people are low around mid afternoon; as a result, many of us shrug off exercise later in the day by saying, "I’m too tired."

Lunchtime workouts can counter. I have mentioned before the importance of resistance workouts and lunchtime is perfect for a 25-30 minute weights workout.

Twice a week, lunchtime, high intensity short duration workouts could be the perfect way to get that extra exercise in.

You may be able to negotiate with your boss to swap 30 minutes and stay later at the end of the day to allow time for that lunchtime workout.

Just some lunchtime exercise benefits include:
* Relief of workday stress
* Makes you more productive in the afternoon
* It's less crowded in the gym
* Working out reduces the appetite, so you’ll feel less inclined to eat a big lunch.
* It's cold outside anyway, so why not keep warm in the gym?

Although you might be pushed for time, always make sure you warm-up and cool-down slynkey girls!

The purpose of warm-up activities is to prepare the body, especially the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, for the conditioning or stimulus phase of the exercise session.

Then the cool-down phase assures that the venous return to the heart is maintained in the face of significant amounts of blood going to the previously working muscles. Good Luck with your training!
