Marocka opened in the first week of August 2005 in South Of Lichfield (SOL). Next to Frankie, across from Illicet, they are just down Lordships Lane. Marocka is a beautiful gallery specialising in jewellery and artwork. They pride themselves in stocking quality, distinctively designed jewellery from local and international artists and a range of different mediums of local art.Currently they have jewellery from Mexico, Thailand, The United States, New Zealand, Poland, and Germany. Most of their jewellery is made with sterling silver and whatever stone or material is used for the colour, or bold beaded work. They have a wide range of styles to suit everyone's tastes and yet maintain a reputation for supplying very distinctive designs.
Jewellery prices range from around $20 to $1,000 so there is something for everyone. Their wall art exhibitions rotate every quarter year and there is up to four different New Zealand artists' work available for viewing and sale. If YOU would like to exhibit your work in Marocka's gallery you can simply email them or take in some examples of your work for consideration. They also have a full time ceramic sculpture artist Paul Laird displaying his work, and the owner Bianca's own charcoal figurative life drawing which you can commission.
Marocka often holds exhibition parties for their database. These are heaps of fun and are evenings in which they open the store late, have drinks and nibbles and give the guests the first view of their new art exhibition and jewellery. There are also spot giveaways and special deals and people have a lot of fun trying things on and meeting other people. This is great point of difference for them as a jewellery store and having events and evening shopping is part of what South Of Lichfield is going to be well known for!
