Winter Dos & Don'ts

Winter. The Wind, the rain and the cold are damaging your hair. [The trees and the suburbs as well!]
The following is an easy list of Do and “try not to” Don’ts to keep your hair healthy as you scurry from home to work to coffee/drinks/meal/music to home.

DOs:

DO EXPECT HAIR CARE ADVICE from your Hairdresser. [ They are your Hair Professional.]
At Ginger Megg’s - the staff on the washing basins and our specialist Colourists are trained to consult with the Stylist on your hair health and colour. Expect regular advice on YOUR hair's health!

Do brush your hair daily. Brushing your dry hair ensure the natural hair oils are spread along the mid lengths and ends.

Do use a LEAVE IN CONDITIONER at least once a week. Hint: Purchase a Hair Rap [great movie look]. Moisten it. Microwave till warm. Wrap your hair…

Do use a CONDITIONER on your hair’s mid lengths and ends. Hint: Apply Conditioner and then Shampoo and then rinse.

Do use a hair product for hair protection before Blow Drying or Irons Hint: Groupy, Candy, Glamour or Super Star by Mike. [Subtle product plug here]

Do use the correct STYLING product.

DO NOTs:

Do not OVER SHAMPOO.
Fine Hair- Less worry here for you. You are cool to go if you use a VOLUMISER SHAMPOO.
Medium Hair-
Less shampoo is best as it strips out the volume.
Course Hair- Shampoo as part of your Condition-Shampoo-Condition. Hint: It is hard to OVER CONDITION HAIR!

!WARNING! WET HAIR DAMAGE ALERT. Use a wide tooth comb on your wet hair.
Your hair swells when wet and combing can frizz up and damage it. Using a loose tie to pull back the hair helps avoid the frizz up and hair damage.

DO NOT keep hair close to heaters [gas or electric] or the fire.

Now where is the mulled wine……
