It goes without saying that you want to look amazing on your wedding day, for many of us it is the day we look the best we have (& will ever) look! You spend a lot of money on your dress, shoes, underwear, hair and accessories but your makeup is just, if not more important that any of these things. After all - It is your face that will feature in the photos & what everyone looks at! Here are some tips to remember and to ensure your makeup looks fabulous all day & night at your wedding!1. Use a professional makeup artist
Not many people do their own makeup on their big day and we would definitely recommend hiring a professional makeup artist with experience in doing wedding makeup. Have a test application a week before the wedding and take pictures of looks you like for them to copy. But be strong and say if you don't feel comfortable with anything they do - You need to feel & look like yourself, If you are not happy with your makeup, it will show in your face.
2. Get your skin in shape
Although you are not doing your makeup yourself, you can make sure your skin is in tip top condition, so that the makeup artist you have hired has a great base to work with. Leading up to the wedding, make sure you have been drinking lots of water, don't touch or pick your skin, exfoliate often and even invest in a course of facials or microdermabrasion to get that glowing renewed skin to the surface!
3. Makeup Bag
Part of the bridesmaid's job is to make sure you get through your day without any hitches. Designate one of your bridesmaids to carry a small mini pack of the makeup that you are wearing so you can re-apply and do any touch ups after tears or as the day wears on. Also make sure your mascara is water proof - There are likely to be tears during the ceremony - Tears of joy hopefully!
4. Enjoy yourself
Let's face it, the best thing you can wear on your face is a smile. Try and breathe, relax and enjoy your day! This will show on your face and make you look younger and just like the beautiful bride you are!
