Makeup

Your must have makeup toolkit

For eyes:

1. An angle brush
, for lining the eye, more defined blending and application, and also used for evening out eyebrows with brow shadow.
2. A flat oval shaped brush, for applying eyeshadow to the eyelid area.
3. A softer blending brush, for the crease line will allow a soft graduated edge to really open those eyes up.
4. If your into liquid eyeliner, an eyepoint brush has great spring for the finest of applications.

For foundation:

A foundation brush enables the foundation to be worked into the skin, also receiving a much more even application. Furthermore, I find that you will only use half as much product than you would by using a sponge!

For blusher:
Use a brush that is around an inch and a half in diameter, this enables me to define the cheeks more accurately if need be. The blusher brushes in compacts are often too small and the bristles too hard.

For lips:
These come in all shapes and sizes, I find the best to have very fine bristles with a lot of spring so you can load the colour up quicker. Using the lippy out of the container doesn’t allow enough control, and makeup is all about a controlled application!

Like anything, you need the right tools. Using the correct tools makes an enormous difference to makeup application. Foundation can be applied and worked into the skin more easily, lip colour can be drawn on more smoothly as well as eyeshadow being blended better. By using the correct brushes, you will also save on the amount of product used.
