Beauty in your 20s

Getting serious about simple skincare routines such as cleansing and using daily sun protection while in your 20's will ensure great looking skin in your 30's.

The 3 Golden Rules:

1. Commit to using a daily sunscreen (avioud sun damage) Look for extra UVA protection and antioxidant backup.

2. Pump your skin full of antioxidents (vitamins and plant extracts) to counter act effects of too much sun, pollution and smoking, which can damage vital collagen and elastin fibres.

3. Use a moisturise mask regularly to keep your skin looking fresh and well hydrated.

Don't over-exfoliate! The result of repeated or over-exfoliation of healthy skin is despite the healthy appearance, significant exposure to environmental toxins, free radicals, dehydration and interferance with the normal physiology of the skin. The inevitable exposure to light also makes the skin more likely to become photodamaged.

I have very dry skin, what can I do to help this?

A - People with dry skin should AVOID:

• Using soap or foaming cleansers

• Sporting activities in windy conditions

• Excessive sun exposure which aggravates dry skin

• Heated rooms without increasing the moisture levels.

• Air conditioned environments which aggravate dry skin

• High doses of vitamin A creams until the skin has acclimatised to Vitamin A

• Saunas - they dehydrate the skin. Use a steam room instead

Have you ever tried any of these?
